Sin and evil do not share a common origin. Through one man sin entered the world.
Through the fallen angels evil entered the world. The distinction has consequences
that run from Genesis to the Great White Throne — through the flood as a surgical
operation on the seed line, the division of the nations at Babel, the conquest as
the execution of a judgment already rendered in the divine court, and the ongoing
angelic conflict in which the Church Age believer is a tactical participant today.

Sin and evil are different categories of conduct, covered by different mechanisms,
and answered at different judgments. The forgiveness command is category-specific.
The wealthy man, the woman caught in adultery, and Absalom are precision case studies
in the distinction — and Jesus administered the Law in each encounter with full
knowledge of every party's actual standing.

Wright frames him as a prophet-like figure. Longenecker places him in a taxonomy
